Typology
Typology
Eco-sustainable natural substrate based on calcium carbonate, developed for marine aquariums.
Granulometry: 0.4 - 1.7 mm
The sub-angular morphology of the grains (angularity index 0.4–0.6 according to Powers/Pettijohn).

Dosage
Dosage
To calculate the amount of sand needed in kg, calculate the volume of the sand layer and multiply it by 1.5.
Practical example
50x50 cm aquarium with 3 cm of sand:
50x50x3 = 7500
7500 ÷ 1000 = 7.5 L
7.5L × 1.5 = approximately 11 kg of sand.

- PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
BEA ECO-SAND was designed to provide a substrate that combines aesthetics, functionality, and environmental ethics. Its light, natural color gives the aquarium a beautiful, luminous appearance, enhancing corals and fish, recreating the effect of tropical reefs and lagoons.
From an ethical perspective, it is an environmentally friendly, eco-friendly, and sustainable product, made with processes that have a reduced human impact. The production of BEA ECO-SAND contributes to reducing extraction from nature, allowing the aquarist to choose a conscious solution that respects marine ecosystems.
The composition is based on calcium carbonate naturally rich in magnesium and trace elements , which guarantee naturalness and support for the development of benthic microfauna and bacterial colonization, fundamental elements for the biological balance of the aquarium.
From a granulometric point of view, BEA ECO-SAND sand has a distribution between 0.4 and 1.7 mm , selected to ensure a good compromise between aesthetics, permeability and stability of the sand bed.
The morphology of the grains was evaluated according to the Powers/Pettijohn scale , placing the sand in the sub-angular range with an angularity index of 0.4–0.6 . This means that the grains are predominantly rounded , with blunt edges that ensure:- increased colonization for microfauna and benthic organisms,
- adequate surface area for microbial colonization,
- less tendency to compaction and stability of the substrate over time.
BEA ECO-SAND is therefore not only an aesthetically pleasing substrate, but a valuable technical tool , designed to support the biological life of the marine aquarium while fully respecting the environment.
