BEA Sand Inoculum is a starter for marine benthic organisms and associated bacterial consortia.

It allows the system to be populated with a very diverse pool of detritivorous and algae-eating organisms and associated bacterial consortia that are essential for maintaining a correct balance in the system.

Content

Live sand with mature benthic organisms and associated bacterial consortia (spaghetti worms, fireworms, tube worms, spirographis, copepods, gammarids and other species of small crustaceans).

The species composition may vary from inoculum to inoculum depending on the natural availability of the organisms at the time of collection; however, the total quantity and concentration of the inoculum remain constant.

Effectiveness

1) Promote system stability and the disposal of debris, algal films and sludge.

2) Populate rocks, dsb and refugium.

1 x 500ml bag of water, live sand and associated organisms.

Dosage

Place the entire contents of the bag into the aquarium or refugium, including water.

Possibly with the lights off and the skimmer or lift turned off for an hour or so.

    • PRODUCT DESCRIPTION


    BEA SAND INOCULUM is a high-density biological starter, consisting of calcium carbonate sand colonized by a rich community of live benthic organisms and specialized bacterial consortia. Its use allows for accelerating the biological maturation of the system and instilling stability right from the initial setup phases.

    This product offers multiple benefits:

    • Introduces fundamental detritivorous organisms for the recycling of organic substances.

    • Enriches the substrate with bacteria already adapted to interstitial life in sediments.

    • Promotes bioturbation and proper oxygenation of the sand bed.

    • Constitutes a natural source of benthic plankton.

    The bacterial consortia present in the inoculum derive from well-matured and healthy sandy substrates, ensuring the introduction of a stable microbial community, already efficient in the main biogeochemical processes (nitrification, denitrification, detritus degradation). Not all inoculated organisms will be immediately visible to the naked eye, but in the following weeks, it will be possible to observe their positive effects on the balance and vitality of the system.

    We use pure calcium carbonate sand, and its light color is due to the natural composition of the material, not to a lack of colonization or a recent introduction into our systems. In our facilities, each batch is carefully matured for a very long period to ensure high effectiveness and proper colonization.

    BEA SAND INOCULUM is ideal for enriching refugiums, DSBs, SSBs, and for starting marine reef aquariums.

    The inoculum includes detritivorous benthic organisms associated with substrates and natural benthic communities.
    The species composition may vary from inoculum to inoculum based on the natural availability of organisms at the time of collection; however, the overall quantity and concentration of the inoculum remain constant.

    • HOW TO USE


    Place the entire contents of the bag into the aquarium or refugium, including water.

    Possibly with the lights off and the skimmer or lift turned off for an hour or so.
    No danger in case of overdose.

    • STORAGE


    The products in the package are carefully conditioned and protected for transport, both during the cold and warm seasons, and are prepared to travel safely for several days.


    It is not possible to store the product for a period after the delivery day.
